Tap2Local Updates

We’re giving Tap2Local merchants even more control over how they collect payments and stay informed on daily business activity with two major updates – User-Defined Payment Amounts and Customizable Notifications.

We also want to provide an update regarding merchant eligibility.

Merchant Eligibility

Recently, we identified better ways to help discover eligible merchants for Tap2Local enrollment. We did not anticipate the level of engagement that we would see, which was great, but we definitely wanted to give you that same awareness so you could be on the lookout for inbound inquiries from your accountholders.

Going forward, we will make sure to notify you before we make any major adjustments to how we discover eligible merchants, so you and your teams have a heads up! Because embedding these features is a new experience we’re creating, we appreciate the feedback you’ve shared, as it helps us continue to iterate how we deliver these enhancements to you.

Reminder: If you ever see a merchant who you do not want to have access to this functionality, admins can modify their access in Banno People.

User Defined Payment Amounts

Merchants will soon have the option to generate flexible payment links and QR codes that let the buyer set the final transaction amount rather than requiring the merchant to configure the price. This is ideal for non-profit donations, open-market retail, or custom invoice balances. While the buyer sets the total, funds will still flow securely through the Moov Wallet and follow the standard next-day settlement process.

Customizable Notifications

Soon, Tap2Local merchants can directly control the notifications that matter to their businesses! Once released, the new notification system and customizable settings suite will give merchants real-time oversight of these critical business activities:

  • Enrollment alerts
  • Transaction and payment link alerts
  • Disputes
  • Settlement alerts
  • Tap2Local service updates
  • Document availability
