Session Inactivity for Banno Admin
Previously, Banno Admin required your employees to reauthenticate by starting a new session after 30 minutes of inactivity. This 30-minute session inactivity timer was implemented as a security measure that was effective at preventing security attacks such as session hijacking.
Recently, we updated the Banno Admin inactivity settings to match that of Jack Henry Identity, due to the robust protections our Identity authentication framework offers. Sessions now remain active for 24 hours (as of June 2026) rather than forcing users to continually ensure their session remains active – since that’s no longer necessary, we also removed the dialog that used to prompt users after 29 minutes of inactivity.
